A dedicated container for non-recyclable glass is coming soon to La Pacaudière

Very soon, the La Pacaudière recycling center will welcome a container dedicated to non-recyclable glass. This installation addresses a concrete need: preventing the landfilling of glass excluded from conventional recycling channels and offering a useful local alternative.

I will collect this glass directly and transform it with a torch into unique and committed creations made from non-recyclable recycled glass.

Why non-recyclable glass is a problem

Broken tableware, Pyrex, glass-ceramic, tempered glass, stained glass, crystal, and chandelier elements do not belong in standard glass recycling containers. Their composition differs from packaging glass and disrupts industrial recycling.

Today, due to the lack of an appropriate solution, most of this glass ends up landfilled, even though it could become a resource.

A local solution currently being implemented

With the upcoming arrival of this container in La Pacaudière, residents will be able to clearly sort their non-recyclable glass and know exactly what will happen to it.

This approach makes it possible to reduce landfilled waste, give value to a forgotten material, and support a local artisanal initiative.

  • réduire les déchets envoyés à l’enfouissement,
  • valoriser une matière oubliée,
  • soutenir une initiative artisanale locale.

Each deposit will become a concrete and committed action.

What glass can be deposited in the future container?

Once the container is installed, you will be able to deposit:

  • Broken tableware
  • Pyrex dishes and molds
  • Stained glass
  • Crystal
  • Chandelier elements

Do not deposit mirrors, porcelain, earthenware, or ceramics.

Preparing ahead

While waiting for the container to arrive, everyone can set aside their non-recyclable glass instead of throwing it away. This simple habit allows immediate action to reduce waste.

A collective and committed project

The La Pacaudière recycling center is taking part in a concrete waste-reduction initiative. On my side, I commit to transforming this glass locally, by hand, to give it a second life.

All glass deserves a better ending than landfill.
